1936 Pontiac Project - Post 4 - Fenders Installed

Jim, the proud owner of the '36 Pontiac came by to assist with the installation of the fenders.

Jim was really pleased with how they came out.  It will be fun to see it all together!  Next, the front glass will be inserted, before installation of the front fenders.  More to come...

1974 Ford Ranger F100 Project - Post 3

Jorge continues work on the 1974 Ranger F100.  The door skins are smoothed and in primer.  He's finished smoothing, straightening, and priming the front right fender, and he's starting to work on the left rear quarter panel.

1931 Model A Pickup - post 10 - Work on the doors begins

Bill applies a thin coat of putty to smooth out the door skins and to blend in where the new metal was welded on the bottoms.

Along the tops of the doors the rust (removed by sandblasting) had left a few holes.  The metal was still strong so Bill filled the holes and pits with DuraGlass - a really dense, waterproof putty.  It won't be long and the doors will be in primer, ready for paint.

1936 Pontiac Project - Post 3

The body is painted! We still need to finish the fenders... they should be painted soon, but the cab, hood, and deck lid have been painted and the car is coming together nicely.  See previous posts for additional information on this car.

1974 Ford Ranger F100 Project - Post 2

Work continues on our 1974 Ford Ranger Project.  Jorge got the left rear quarter panel all smothed out and then applied a coat of etching primer to prep the bare metal before priming it.

  And now... some gray primer...

More to come on this one...

1936 Pontiac Project - Post 2

Hours of sanding, smoothing, filling... and now masking.  Our body guy (Josh) has been hard at work on this car for over a week now.  Fenders removed...

Sanding and filling begins...

 First coat of primer/surfacer...

Work on the fenders continues.  Josh had to weld in some new metal where it was really weak...

The bodywork and smoothing is pretty well finished on the body of the car.  Here the guys are masking the interior parts off so the exterior can be painted...

Next stop... Our Global Down-Draft Paintbooth...  More to come...

1931 Model A Pickup - post 9 - Hood parts skimmed and sanded

Bill continued work on the hood parts...

We also put some new caulk along the back interior edge of the cab.  The old stuff was cracked and a low-grade material.  The pictures laying in the floor are for reference...
and inspiration!
